Sports Bike Installation Guide

What’s Included:

Each sports bike wrap kit includes high-performance vinyl sized to cover key sections of a sportbike, including:

  • Front fairings

  • Side fairings

  • Gas tank

  • Tail section

  • Front and rear fenders

  • Seat cowl or side panels

Kit Options:

  • 47in x 96in – Standard high-tack vinyl for smooth, painted plastic or fiberglass.

  • 53in x 96in (LSE Vinyl) – Designed for low surface energy plastics (like ABS or textured fairings), which resist adhesion from standard wraps.

⚠️ Why Use LSE Vinyl?
Many sportbike fairings and panels are molded from polypropylene, ABS, or textured plastics—materials that resist traditional adhesives. Our LSE wrap is engineered to bond to these surfaces, ensuring better long-term adhesion and durability under high-speed wind and heat exposure. It's ideal for track bikes, racing plastics, or aggressive-style builds.

Pre-Installation Preparation

1. Disassemble the Bike Panels:

  • Remove the fairings, seat cowl, tank cover (if applicable), and any other bodywork you plan to wrap.

  • Disassembly gives you a flat, controllable surface to work with and helps achieve clean edge tucks.

2. Clean Every Panel:

  • Wash all parts with soap and water to remove grease, oil, and road grime.

  • Follow up with 70% isopropyl alcohol to remove any silicone or wax-based residue.

  • For LSE wrap users: No adhesion promoter is needed—LSE adhesive is already optimized for textured or molded panels.

Installation Instructions

1. Start with Simpler Panels:

  • Begin with flat or gently curved pieces like side fairings or rear cowl sections.

  • Peel back a portion of the liner and apply using your Eco Glide Squeegee working from the center outward.

2. Move to Complex Shapes (Tank, Front Fairing):

  • Use the Inferno Heat Gun to warm the vinyl, increasing flexibility as you approach rounded tanks or vented nose fairings.

  • Apply gentle tension and stretch evenly around sharp edges or indentations.

  • Avoid overstretching—heat and reposition when necessary.

3. Relief Cuts & Panel Seams:

  • For aggressive contours, use relief cuts to relieve tension and avoid creases.

  • If wrapping over seams, overlap panels by ¼ inch for secure adhesion.

4. Trim Cleanly & Tuck Edges:

  • Use the Precision Knife (30°) to trim excess vinyl around lights, screw holes, and air ducts.

  • Tuck edges underneath where possible, and heat lightly to lock them in place.

Post-Install Tips

  • Allow 24–48 hours of curing before riding or exposing to rain.

  • Avoid pressure washing or detailing the bike for at least 5 days.

  • Reassemble panels carefully, checking for vinyl pinch points during fitment.

Finish-Specific Maintenance Tips

Matte:

  • Clean with matte-safe detailing sprays.

  • Do not use polish or wax. Avoid aggressive wiping or pressure.

Satin:

  • Use non-glossy detailing sprays and wipe in straight lines.

  • Satin finishes maintain a clean sheen without needing buffing.

Gloss:

  • Hand wash with vinyl-safe soap.

  • Use a spray wax or vinyl-safe detailer to restore and protect the shine.
