What’s Included:
Each motorcycle wrap kit includes high-performance vinyl sized to cover key sections of a motorcycle, including:
-
Gas tank
-
Side fairings
-
Front fairing or headlight cowl
-
Rear seat cowl or tail section
-
Front and rear fenders
-
Side panels
Kit Options:
-
47in x 120in – Standard high-tack vinyl for smooth, painted metal or fiberglass panels.
-
53in x 120in (LSE Vinyl) – Designed for low surface energy plastics (like ABS or textured fairings), which resist adhesion from standard wraps.
⚠️ Why Use LSE Vinyl?
Many motorcycle fairings, tanks, and panels are molded from polypropylene, ABS, or textured plastics—materials that resist traditional adhesives. Our LSE wrap is engineered to bond to these surfaces, ensuring better long-term adhesion and durability under heat, vibration, and wind exposure. It's ideal for cruisers, racing bikes, and textured OEM plastics.
Recommended Tools:
-
Metro Restyling Eco Glide Suede Squeegee: Prevents scratching during wrap application on tight curves and angled panels.
-
Metro Restyling Inferno Heat Gun: Required for shaping vinyl over domed tanks and aggressive contours.
-
Metro Restyling Precision Knife (30°): Perfect for detailed trimming around vents, lights, and emblems.
-
OLFA 30° Replacement Blades: Keeps each cut sharp and clean for precision edgework.
-
Metro Restyling Anti-Static Wrap Gloves: Provide grip and control during wrapping without leaving fingerprints or lint.
Pre-Installation Preparation
1. Disassemble the Panels:
-
Remove fairings, tank covers, cowls, and any other bodywork you plan to wrap.
-
Disassembly creates a flat, manageable surface and helps achieve cleaner edge tucks.
2. Clean Every Panel:
-
Wash all surfaces with soap and water to remove grease, oil, and road grime.
-
Wipe with 70% isopropyl alcohol to remove silicone or wax-based residue.
-
For LSE wrap users: No adhesion promoter is required—LSE adhesive is optimized for textured plastics.
Installation Instructions
1. Start with Simpler Panels:
-
Begin with flat or slightly curved panels such as side covers or rear seat cowls.
-
Peel back part of the liner and apply using your Eco Glide Squeegee , working from the center outward.
2. Move to Complex Shapes (Tank, Front Fairing):
-
Use the Inferno Heat Gun to warm the vinyl, increasing flexibility as you stretch over rounded tanks or vented nose fairings.
-
Apply even tension around sharp edges and heat again if repositioning is needed.
3. Relief Cuts & Seams:
-
Make relief cuts on aggressive bends to reduce stress and prevent creasing.
-
If covering seams, overlap vinyl by ¼ inch for better hold.
4. Trim & Tuck Edges:
-
Use the Precision Knife (30°) to trim around bolts, lights, and vents.
-
Tuck edges underneath and lightly heat to seal them securely.
Post-Install Tips
-
Allow 24–48 hours of curing before riding or exposing to rain.
-
Avoid pressure washing for at least 5 days.
-
Reassemble carefully, ensuring vinyl is not pinched under fasteners.
Finish-Specific Maintenance Tips
Matte:
-
Clean with matte-safe detailing sprays only.
-
Avoid wax, polish, or aggressive wiping.
Satin:
-
Use non-gloss detailers and wipe in straight, gentle motions.
-
Satin maintains a smooth finish without buffing.
Gloss:
-
Hand wash with vinyl-safe soap.
-
Use vinyl-safe spray wax or detailer to restore shine and protect the film.
