Rocker Panel Wrap Installation Guide

What’s Included:

Each rocker panel wrap kit includes three sheets of high-quality vinyl. You will receive either:

  • 3 sheets of 16in x 6ft, or

  • 3 sheets of 16in x 7ft

(depending on the size of your truck). These dimensions are designed to provide coverage for both the driver side, passenger side, and rear bumper or overflow coverage.

⚠️ Important: This is a patterned wrap. To ensure the design flows seamlessly from one side of the truck to the other, you must carefully align the sheets during installation. This guide explains how to do that.

Recommended Tools:

Pre-Installation Preparation:

1. Clean the Vehicle Thoroughly:

  • Wash the lower panels of your truck to remove road grime, tar, or oils.

  • Wipe the surface with 70% isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

  • Focus on wheel well edges, door corners, and textured rocker trim where dirt tends to collect.

2. Remove or Mask Trim (If Applicable):

  • If your truck has rocker molding or side steps that interfere with wrapping, remove them if possible.

  • Otherwise, mask them off and trim the vinyl cleanly around them later.

Installation Instructions:

1. Lay Out All Three Sheets Before Starting:

  • Place all three vinyl sheets flat on the ground (or a clean surface) side by side in the order you’ll install them:

    • Driver Side

    • Passenger Side

  • Carefully examine the camo or custom pattern. You’ll notice pattern flow from left to right—this is intentional.

  • Use masking tape to mark the top or middle point of each sheet to serve as alignment references when installed on opposite sides.

Pro Tip: Mirror the orientation of the passenger side panel so that the design continues fluidly from driver to passenger side (as if you folded the pattern around the truck).

2. Install the Driver Side Panel First:

  • Align the vinyl along the rocker panel, just under the doors.

  • Use the Eco Glide Suede Squeegee to apply smooth pressure from the center out.

  • Gently heat any body curves or bends using the Inferno Heat Gun for better conformity.

3. Align the Passenger Side Panel Precisely:

  • Now move to the passenger side. Flip the second panel horizontally to mirror the flow of the pattern.

  • Align using the same height reference marks used on the driver side.

  • Check the pattern by comparing similar elements in the print (e.g., branches, shapes, or textures) to ensure visual continuity across the vehicle.

4. Use the Third Panel for Finishing Touches:

  • Use the remaining panel for the rear bumper, bed side ends, or touch-up patches if needed.

  • If the extra panel is unused, keep it for future repairs or accent trim.

Trimming and Finishing:

  • Use the Precision Knife to carefully trim around wheel wells, door seams, and rock guard areas.

  • Reheat edges to activate the adhesive and press firmly to seal.

  • Ensure all vinyl edges are tucked or trimmed flush to prevent lifting.

Post-Install Tips:

  • Allow 24 hours before driving or washing the vehicle.

  • Avoid pressure washing near vinyl seams for the first 5–7 days.

  • For added durability, consider edge sealing tape on high-impact areas.

Finish-Specific Maintenance Tips:

Matte:

  • Avoid waxes or polish. Clean using matte-specific sprays.

  • Wipe with a microfiber towel regularly to prevent buildup.

Satin:

  • Clean with mild soap and water or satin-safe detail sprays.

  • Avoid abrasive cleaners or rough sponges.

Gloss:

  • Use vinyl-safe waxes or detailers to maintain shine and UV resistance.

  • Wash regularly and dry with a microfiber towel to avoid water spots.
