What’s Included:
Fishing boat vinyl wrap kits are designed to cover the sides of standard aluminum or fiberglass fishing boats. Each kit has the option to add a transom wrap, giving your boat a fully wrapped, seamless look from bow to stern.
If you’re only looking to customize the back of your vessel, we also offer standalone transom wrap kits—perfect for adding camo, color, or branding to just the rear panel.
✅ Tip: Measure your boat carefully and always order slightly more than your estimated area to account for curves and trimming.
Recommended Tools:
-
Metro Restyling Eco Glide Suede Squeegee: Gentle, flexible, and perfect for smoothing vinyl over aluminum or fiberglass without scratching.
-
Metro Restyling Inferno Heat Gun: Heats the vinyl for better stretch and adhesion around contours, rivets, and transom edges.
-
Metro Restyling Precision Knife (30°): Ideal for cleanly trimming around handles, rails, logos, or outboard mounts.
-
OLFA 30° Replacement Blades: Ensure clean cuts throughout your install with fresh blades on hand.
-
Metro Restyling Anti-Static Wrap Gloves: Reduce static buildup and improve grip when working in tighter areas or on angled panels.
Pre-Installation Preparation:
1. Clean Your Boat Thoroughly:
-
Wash with marine-safe soap to remove dirt, algae, and oxidation.
-
Wipe down all surfaces with 70% isopropyl alcohol to remove any wax, oil, or residue.
-
Pay extra attention to edges, rivets, seams, and transom corners.
2. Remove Hardware If Possible:
-
Take off cleats, transom stickers, rails, and any other hardware that may get in the way.
-
If not removable, you’ll trim the vinyl around these items during installation.
Installation Instructions:
For Full Fishing Boat Wraps (Sides):
-
Plan Your Layout:
-
Dry-fit the vinyl along the sides to make sure you have proper coverage.
-
Start at the stern and work toward the bow, keeping vinyl aligned with the rub rail or existing panel edges.
-
-
Apply the Vinyl:
-
Peel back a small section of the liner, align the top edge, and squeegee down using the Eco Glide Suede Squeegee.
-
Use overlapping strokes from the center outward to prevent air bubbles.
-
For curves, rivets, or deep seams, lightly warm the vinyl with the Inferno Heat Gun and press into place.
-
-
Trim and Seal:
-
Use the Precision Knife to cut around hardware or trim lines.
-
Apply heat again to seal edges and seams.
-
For Transom Wraps (Add-On or Standalone):
-
Position and Align:
-
Whether installing with the full wrap or as a standalone, align the vinyl on the flat transom surface.
-
Dry-fit to ensure proper coverage, allowing a little overhang on the top and bottom for wrapping over edges.
-
-
Apply with Heat and Precision:
-
Apply using the same squeegee and center-out technique.
-
Use heat to work the vinyl around bolts, seams, or any motor mounts.
-
For outboard cutouts, use your precision knife to trim and tuck the vinyl cleanly.
-
-
Edge Finishing:
-
Reheat and press along all edges for long-term durability.
-
Be sure transom vinyl is fully sealed, especially if exposed to constant water contact.
-
Post-Install Tips:
-
Let the wrap cure for 24–48 hours before launching the boat.
-
Avoid pressure washing or direct sun exposure during the first few days.
-
Reinstall any hardware after confirming all vinyl is securely applied.
Finish-Specific Maintenance Tips:
Matte:
-
Use only matte-safe soaps—no wax or polish.
-
Rinse off any saltwater or fish residue promptly to avoid stains.
Satin:
-
Maintain with soft detail sprays and microfiber cloths.
-
Avoid abrasive brushes that could damage the finish.
Gloss:
-
Hand wash with vinyl-safe cleaners.
-
Use detail sprays to keep it shiny and protected from UV rays.
