From meager beginnings of selling to a local outfitter or attending small table top shows around the state, GameGuard has now become a well-recognized brand with almost a cult-like following. GameGuard is no longer a little fish in a big pond but the brand that Texans, and most hunters of the Southwestern United States, recognize as the product to buy.

GameGuard was founded in 2002 by native Texan and father of five Craig Smith. Craig took on a personal challenge to develop a pattern that best fir Texas and the Southwestern United States landscape. About one year was spent drawing the pattern and working with printing mills to be emulate the subtle tans, taupes and browns found in the area while weaving in the muted greens of cactus, yucca and cedar. It was critical to get the colors right and once that part of the task was complete, we set out to build the best products we possibly could.
